In Sweden Wednesdays are known as Lill Lördag (Little Saturday) because apparently, they like to mark half way to the weekend with a drink!

Just to prove you don’t have to wait till the weekend to have fun, come and celebrate your mid week at du NORD's Lill Lördag and enjoy market price cocktails ($12) and Swedish street food, soundtracked to 60s & 70s soul funk and old school hip hop 45s.

Hidden between hiking stores and cafes, du NORD brings Swedish cool to Little Bourke st. Behind the mammoth beechwood bar is a knowledgeable team of mixologists that can guide you through a vast selection of Öl, Schnapps, Vitt or RÖtt (aka beer, white or red wine), with a sneaky side of popcorn in standing in for the standard peanuts. Prices are reasonable with wine varietals by the glass.

To wash all the Scandinavian grog down is Swedish street food and ample Svenska Bitar – bar snacks. Swedish Meatballs($8) soaked with creamy mash and lingonberry or du Nord’s take on the hot dog, the TunnbrÖdsrull – grilled sausage encased with mash, cucumber relish, mustard and ketchup wrapped in Swedish flat blanket bread ($9).

So join us for Sweden’s very civilised answer to marking hump day for a fun night out. And with the following day being a public holiday, there's no need to worry about hangovers!

Look for your host at the venue - use the SMS reminder number if you have trouble finding us. All food and drinks at own expense.
