Is there anything better than the Friday night drink? We don't think so - it might even be be the greatest moment of the week!

Celebrate the end of the working week with us at Shebeen Bar - a jazzed up version of makeshift bars in South Africa, serving up slick cocktails and good food that is entirely not-for-profit.

Shebeens were illegal during apartheid and were designed to be shut down hastily. In a very different setting on Melbourne's Manchester Lane, a corrugated iron screen lifts up to reveal Australia's first not-for-profit bar.

At Shebeen Bar you can enjoy a drink and know that you’re making a difference. Exotic beers and wines from the developing world are sold at Shebeen and the profits from each drink sale support a development project in that drink’s country of origin.

How good is that? If that doesn't make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, nothing will!
