Bar Economico takes over from the long-running and multi-awarded cocktail laboratory

Gone are the days of $20+ cocktails that take forever to make and in its place, a Central and South American-themed dive bar, complete with bartenders working behind a cage, a Latin and reggae soundtrack and and cocktails served in plastic cups. For added quirk, instead of paying the bartender directly, you purchase $5 drink tickets in advance from a small booth at the back of the venue and hand them over once you've got your cocktail.
The focus of here is rum, rum and more rum. In fact, there’s a selection of more than 50 different quality dark and white rums. The cocktail menu is designed to be ‘economically friendly’ for the everyday punter with basic cocktails starting at two tickets and going up to four.
For example, a mojito of Havana rum and generous amounts of ice, lime and mint will set you back just two tickets, while for something a little more complicated, such as the super boozie Zombie cocktails, you can expect to hand over 4 tickets. Long story short - there's something priced for everyone!
There's also a single beer available (one ticket), which at the moment is the thirst-quenching Mexican Tecate, but will change regularly and will stick to the same geographical region.
So grab your loose change and come on out for some cocktails on the cheap!. Meet your host inside the venue. All food and drinks at own expense.
