Yearning for something a little different? Fancy a night of international cuisine and
? Then why not take a culinary trip around the world with us without leaving Melbourne!
Tonight sees us head to Mexico....well, sort of. We're headed to
Gringo Vibes for some
Cal-Mex, which, if you’re wondering, is what happened to Mexican food after the Californians were done with it.
Owned and run by a real live Californian, Gringo Vibes is authentic as this deliciously bastardised version of Mexican food is going to get, with super-sized quesadillas, tacos, enchiladas and burritos at (nearly) Mexican prices.
The
menu has all the old favourites in meat, veg and gluten-free, plus a few delicious curveballs such as a fake chicken burrito or the ‘sweet tooth’ (strawberries and Nutella in a grilled tortilla). There's five kinds of hot sauce, $5
Tecate beer as well as a great range of tequilas, which the friendly staff are all too happy to chat about..
Combine this with bright orange walls, live succulents, reggae records and just enough kitsch paraphernalia to remind you of where you are without being cheesier than a quesadilla and you have yourself a tasty night out with a bit of fun!
