Join foodies and history buffs alike in a memorable walk through the hidden Chocolate History of Victoria. Yes, there is chocolate to eat, but this tour is also about the Melbourne’s cocoa-rich past and we guarantee that you will never look at a chocolate Freddo the same way again!.
Follow professional chocolatier and tour guide
Howard Frederick
as he takes us on a two hour journey through the secret chocolate laneways of the working-class neighbourhood turned hipsterville areas of Fitzroy and Collingwood.
Gambol through the “Great White Chocolate City” (once employing 3,000 people). Learn about the "Chocolate King of Victoria",
MacPherson Robertson
- where he began his business as a teenager and where he achieved his biggest successes as the inventor of
Freddo Frog
,
Cherry Ripe
and
Old Gold
. The tour also highlights other famous chocolatiers in the neighbourhood such as
Everfresh Snowball
, Simpson’s and
Craig & Hales
.
To finish of the day, we enjoy a chocolate tasting and a high tea at Collingwood’s High Tea Szalón,

Price includes 2 hour historical tour and 30 minute Chocolate Tasting High Tea service at the end of the tour. All other food and drinks at own expense.
Meeting place is in central
Fitzroy
. Location details provided on regsitration. Tour departs at 2pm sharp.
Please dress for comfort and wear comfortable shoes taking into account the predicted weather forecast and the length of the walk (about 2.5km).
