What better way to experience a story set in outer space than in the great outdoors? Join us in the moonlit surrounds of the Royal Botanic Gardens for cinema sensation, Gravity.

Sandra Bullock and George Clooney star as two lone astronauts stranded in the terrifying expanse of space after satellite debris wipes out their shuttle. Dr. Ryan Stone (Bullock) is on her first shuttle mission while Matt Kowalsky (Clooney) is in command of his last flight before retiring. On a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes and the shuttle is destroyed leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone – tethered to nothing but each other and spiralling out into the blackness. All links to Earth are lost and their oxygen supply gradually empties. As panic sets in, the pair realise the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

If packing your own picnic is not your thing, Moonlight’s got you covered with all your candy bar favourites or you can order a hot meal and/or a bottle of wine or beer from the onsite catering.

We recommend that you bring along something to sit on to make your evening more comfortable. A limited number of bean beds are available to hire for $9 on the night (cash only), but be early as these go like hot cakes!

Meet your host at the Moonlight Cinema box office to collect your ticket. Screenings start at sundown, all food and drinks at own expense.
