Escape the city by train and join us for a Sunday session featuring good music and great beer at the Holgate Brewhouse, set in the picturesque surroundings of the the rural village of Woodend.

On arrival in Woodend, we'll take a spend some time broswing the specialty shops (think fudge, teddy bears, Cafes and Antiques) along the tree-lined boulevard in the village centre as we make our way to the Holgate Brewhouse to catch blues band, 40 Thieves doing their thing in the brewhouse front beer garden.

Operating out of a restored 100 year old building, Holgate combines a brewery, public bar, restaurant and hotel all under a single roof - the perfect environment to sample the award-winning range of Holgate beers by way of a tasting paddle, or simply enjoy a pint or two of your favourite. Not a beer drinker? Don't worry we've got you covered with a great selection of local wines also available to whet your palette.

It doesn't get much better than kicking back and relaxing over a beer in a country pub on a Sunday... unless you add some great live music, of course! 40 Thieves is a high energy, 5 piece swampy blues band featuring keyboard, Harp, Guitar, Bass & Drums who will have you on your feet in no time!

If you're feeling a bit peckish during the course of the afternoon, the Holgate restaurant offers a very respectable menu, with entree choices making ideal share plates and the perfect accompaniment for good music, good company and a few drinks.

Look for your host at Southern Cross Station (please advise on registering if you wish to meet the group elsewhere, so we can arrange details). We will be taking the the 1.36pm train to Woodend, with a view to returning on the 18.26pm train.

A MYKI is required to travel to Woodend - please ensure your card has sufficient funds for the journey (about $16 if using myki money, less is using a myki pass). All food and drinks are at own expense.
