Do you love good, tasty and unusual food, wine and beer? Do you want to have mouth watering sauces in your pantry? Do you like to listen to live music? Do want to learn how to cook with, grow and use herbs and chillies? If you've answered YES to any of these questions, you need to spend the day exploring the Yarra Valley with us!
The Yarra Valley is blessed with beautiful scenery and some of Victoria's best grape growers and winemakers. It's also home to cider and beer brewers, farmers, coffee roasters, cheesemakers and many other artisan food producers and the Herb & Chilli Festival and we're off to sample as much as we can!
Our first stop for the day will be at Yering Station, for some wine tasting and the Yarra Valley farmer's market. The market is the best place to sample the Yarra Valley's exceptional produce including local baked bread, wine, honey, preserves, chocolates, ice-cream and cakes.
Then its off to the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery to satify our sweet tooth. Taste your way through over 20 traditional and adventurous ice cream flavours or try a festival flight of five flavours of ice cream inspired by the Kitchen Garden, local produce and native Bush Tucker ingredients. Don;t forget to help yourself to the huge owls of chocolate at the entrance!
After our fill of chocolate and ice-cream, we'll duck up to the
Innoncent Bystander cellar door - famous for their
Pink Moscato for a quick tasting. For those who like beer, you can also drop in to the
White Rabbit Brewery.
We'll then make our way to the
Herb & Chilli Festival where we'll spend the rest of the afternoon getting acquainted with herbs and chillies and other tasty treats. Sample the many taste and flavour combinations from around the world with
over 50 food stalls serving up international dishes. There will also be cooking demonstrations and live music - the perfect way to end the weekend.
Price includes all transport, bottled water to keep you hydrated, a snack bag for he journey (not that you'll need it!) and entrance to the Herb & Chill festival (including a showbag with a magazine, chilli plant and fertiliser) as well as bottled water to keep you hydrated.
