The purpose of this event is to raise better community awareness and understanding about the instrumental role clinical trials play in advancing lifesaving therapies.
What is clinical research?
Every medication available today was once carefully studied through clinical research. These studies help researchers better understand how potential new therapies work, how they are processed in the body, and whether they may be safe and effective for future patients. Participation from both patients and healthy volunteers is essential to helping move medical research forward and creating new possibilities for future generations.
The event will take the form of an informational presentation delivered by representatives from Endeavour BioMedicines and PEA. It will cover:
- What are clinical trials?
- Why they matter
- Safety
- What participation involves and includes
- What is Idiopathic Fibrosis, and The Pulmonary Health Study?
